Isn’t it romantic?

Contemporary Design balancing between Poetry and Provocation

Romanticism – this inconsistent term describes as well tendencies established in the contemporary design.

Constantly we can find patterns, materials, processing methods or concepts taking up and reflecting the poetic, ironic and even the inscrutable principles of romanticism. Romantic issues can be seen such as in the works of Hella Jongerius, Jaime Hayón, Doshi Levien or Philippe Starck, which will exhibit the Museum of Applied Art Cologne under the title 'Isn’t it romantic?' at the beginning of 2013. The exhibition will be curated by Tulga Beyerle, director of the Vienna Design Week.

The  special exhibition traditionally starts at the same time as the international furniture fair in Cologne (imm cologne) and concludes with the ART COLOGNE.
