Converted Lampshade & Reconnected Table

by Daniel Michel

German jewellery and product designer Daniel Michel has introduced two new pieces about transforming stereotypes.

Both the Converted Lampshade and Reconnected Table were part of Michel’s graduation project, Metaform, which he completed at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. He says the objects were created to give a new meaning to stereotypes.

The Converted Lampshade is made of aluminium and doesn’t use traditional bulbs. The classic form of a conical lampshade has been unfolded and reworked into a new shape and function. Four LEDs are covered by thin Plexiglass layer.
