Gaggenau Amsterdam Showroom
Opening Celebrations
For its latest in a series of showroom openings across the world, Gaggenau has opened an Amsterdam flagship location to present its stunning culinary art and design statements.
Opening festivities took place last week, with a slew of Dutch designers meeting to discuss the brands’ kitchen concepts of the future. Present was Frame magazine's Editor-in-Chief Robert Thiemann, industrial designers Frank Tjepkema, Jeroen Dellensen and Jasper Jansen, showroom architect Hendrik Müller and Gaggenau's Designer-in-Chief Sven Baacke.
Also at the showroom event was chef François Geurds, who cooked for guests in a live demonstration. Guerds made use of Gagennau appliances, notably the full-surface induction cooktop CX 480 and the lava grill. Meanwhile, restaurant critic Jay Rayner discussed the vision of a culinary centre and current food trends.
Located in Hoofddorp, about 25km from Amsterdam, the new showroom seeks to blend Gaggenau’s German rooms with Dutch influences – a topic with the designers in attendance were keen to discuss.
