For a Moroccan Tagine restaurant in Seoul, Korean design office M4 created a graphic black and white space with a dreamy, cloud-like ceiling.
A glass facade makes the most of the location and provides a beacon for hungry evening diners, as well as making the most of a space that had plenty of design challenges: low ceilings, long and skinny floor plan, and a low budget.
The restaurant's name, 'Ho-Hum', a word for everyday boredom, inspired the wistful ceiling that mimics lazy day cloud gazing.
The voluptuous white fabric is dotted with lights, and diffusers cause the clouds to shift and move.
The white interior and wooden furniture is contrasted by inventive black typography on the walls, which explains Tagine food, an unfamiliar cuisine in South Korea.
