Ippolito Fleitz Group layers diverse woods inside pan-Asian restaurant in Stuttgart

An interior palette of diverse types, colours and surfaces of wood forms the ambiance of GinYuu, the second restaurant location of a new chain offering a pan-Asian Pacific kitchen, lounge and cocktail bar.

Expressed as oak flooring, driftwood counters, rough-sawn tables, rope-suspended shutters and furnishings, Ippolito Fleitz Group's material selection generates a relaxing atmosphere for guests of the Stuttgart venue. Inspired by the steamy atmosphere of an American diner in the deep South, the simple and functional design lets the food's smells and sounds arouse the senses. Ippolito Fleitz Group guided the design with the concept of ‘Eat Drink Man Woman’ meets Florida Keys.

Beneath a canopy of suspended lights, the spatial circulation begins with a reception desk – where the chain's signature chip cards are distributed and collected. From that point, the dining experience revolves around an open bar and kitchen with food preprarations on display encompassed by a dining area comprised of various seating options. Diners can choose between a leather sofa and coffee tables to lounge while feasting, Violet barstools at the counter for a bar atmosphere, window-side tall tables for a quick meal overlooking the internationally acclaimed Stuttgart Library and wooden partition-enclosed booths for a peaceful and secluded meal.

Planes of deep violet tiles across the kitchen walls as well as blank tile surfaced pillars give way to ceramic accents with hand-applied motifs by Stuttgart-based illustrator Claudia Wagner, visualising GinYuu's lively attitude.
