Brazilian designer and visual communicator Muti Randolph has used a slew of LED lights to fill a shop window in Rio de Janeiro.
‘My inspiration came from waves on the surface of water,’ Randolph says. ‘I have lately been exploring the representation of 3D physics using elementary units in space.’
The project was created for the main window of La Lampe, a Brazilian company that produces LED lights. Images of the installation have also been reprinted in the brand’s advertising campaign.
‘Adjusting the design to form a smooth continuous pattern over the double mirrored reflections, in order to achieve the illusion of an infinite sea of light was tricky,’ Randolph says. ‘Finding the right material and treatment for the diffuser cylinder was a production challenge.’
