Pierre Dubus Architecture Wins Competition
French architectural firm Pierre Dubus has won a competition to realize a colourful children’s school in a Parisian suburb.
The structure will resemble a small island, with gardens that harmonize the site with its surroundings. Two main buildings will be connected by a massive central courtyard and field where students can play. Gardens and greenery will shield this field from neighbours.
The architects say their primary focus will triggering the proper relationship between the building and its environment. The building will be constructed to effect the neighbourhood as little as possible; noise levels will be limited and construction will only take place between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
