ABU DHABI – Architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates has been awarded approval to realize Abu Dhabi’s new Midfield Terminal Complex of its International Airport.
As part of a master plan, the terminal is also intended to act as a new gateway to the city. Welcoming people and introducing them to the Arabic world of progress and wealth, passengers will find themselves in high, spacious halls under a wavy roof. Peeking outside through glazed windows, they’ll find their way alongside sleek, flowing façade elements.
‘The Terminal Complex is designed to serve Abu Dhabi and Etihad Airways well into the 21st century and act as a key driver for the UAE’s economy and growth for decades to come,’ says architect Anthony Mosellie of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates.
