Shrine
by Sigurd Larsen
The compartments have been designed based on shapes of common accessories and gadgets; this way, the drawers will be sure to fit makeup, records, headphones, an LP player and even whiskey bottle. ‘My goal was to design a piece of furniture that was sculptural enough to stand in the middle of a room, while at the same time solve the problem of lost objects and gadgets,’ says designer Sigurd Larsen. The drawers are only accessible with keys, so private items are sure to be kept safe. ‘The biggest challenge was finding the right way to stack the rooms to achieve the most compact form,’ Larsen recalls. ‘The process was like a game of Tetris.’ Shrine is currently exhibited at Voo Store (Oranienstraße 24), Berlin-Kreuzberg.
