Luxury lighting brand Terzani’s latest collection, Precious Design, is intended to ‘go beyond the usual staid boundaries of traditional luxury, incorporating original modern design, cutting-edge technology, artisanal craftsmanship and precious materials’. The results – Anish, Doodle, Core and Mizu – are light sculptures, able to transform spaces through dynamic light and shadow effects. According to Terzani, they create a new visual language of what luxury is, one that reflects tradition and contemporary design while also pushing towards the future.
Working to redefine the way luxury lighting is conceived and made, Terzani has been combining traditional Italian craftsmanship with modern technology since it was founded in Florence in 1972. Sergio Terzani’s original vision was to create handmade lighting that blurs the lines between art, luxury and design. The resulting pieces are sculptural and beautiful, upholding longstanding traditions of craftsmanship in metal and glass, with a meticulous eye for design detail. While many of the designs are created in-house by Terzani’s experienced design team, it also collaborates with renowned designers including Dodo Arlsan, Nigel Coates, Maurizio Galante and Studio 14. The company also works with clients on custom pieces. Terzani’s avowed brand mission is ‘staying rooted in artisanal traditions while continuing to create new lighting directions for the future’ – a vision it clearly puts into effect with Precious Design. The new collection coincides with the opening of a unique showroom space in London this autumn, in the prestigious Design Centre in Chelsea, to showcase its newest creations.
