Wear Me Out Video

by Erwin Wurm @ The Middelheim Museum

Yesterday we introduced you to Erwin Wurm’s current exhibition at the Middelheim Muesm, for which he has collaborated with Antwerp-based fashion designer Walter Van Beirendonck.

In addition to our previous photos of the oversized, playful sculptures at the exhibit, a video is lending deeper insight into the projects by Wurm and Van Beirendonck.

‘We came to the point that it had to be something which was on the edge of fashion and sculpture,’ Van Bierendonck says. ‘At the end it became like walking sculptures.’

The exhibit can be seen until 25 September at the Middelheim Museum. As visitors stroll through the open-air museum, they will see 25 works by Wurm, including three new pieces at the Braem Pavilion.

‘[Wurm] is one of the contemporary artists that really has invented a new chapter in the book of sculpture,’ says Sara Weyns, the exhibit’s curator.
