Dutch product designer Wendy Wassink is a graduate of the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, the Netherlands.

Her Daily Movements project focuses on everyday items shaped by shadow and use. The tableware collection includes a water canister and drinking glass, porcelain milk jug, oil bottle with a cork top, aluminium sugar pot and mugs with plastic handles.

‘My collection is about the beauty of simple actions,’ Wassink says. ‘To focus all attention on the act of pouring, I avoided every form of decoration. The materials reinforce the sensory experience of the action involved.’

For example, Wassink says she created the sugar pot from aluminium to amplify the sound a spoon makes when scooping sugar from the container.

‘My products turn everyday situations into refined rituals,’ Wassink says.
