In a brand-new initiative to make the Frame Awards more inclusive, engaging and transparent, we have opened up our judging panel to the entire spectrum of the design industry, inviting all to apply for a seat at the table.

From lighting designers to project managers, creative directors to interior photographers, our ambition is to connect the entire scope of our community with each other directly. That means bringing makers, creators and clients together in one (virtual) room to discover, discuss and deliberate on the Interiors of the Month and highly commended projects of their peers. The best projects of each category will automatically be shortlisted for Frame Awards 2021, to be judged by a grand jury of industry leaders in June 2021.

Our selected jury of 15 will reshuffle each month, to provide new perspectives and expertise to the Frame Awards competition in our efforts to become more democratic, inclusive and transparent. Meet the first jury, chosen directly from the Frame community, below.

The evaluation process will take place online on a daily basis and will be scored according to the following criteria: innovation, creativity, functionality and sustainability. The jury votes for each submitted project will be visible to offer full transparency to our audience. On Tuesday 6 October 2020 a selection of the jury will discuss the highly commended and winning projects in a livestreamed webinar moderated by Frame founder Robert Thiemann. This jury session is open to the public and will be accessible on Facebook, YouTube and Zoom.

Every month we will appoint new jury members to offer more opportunities to our community to connect with the work of their peers and each other. Want to become a judge in the October jury? Then submit your motivation and resume to jury@frameweb.com.
