This weekend will mark the grand finale of the 2011 Great Indoors Award!

The competition’s program will culminate in Maastricht, the Netherlands, coinciding with the city’s design weekend. A fabulous schedule of events is planned – and you're invited to join us!

On Friday, 4 November, we’ll be checking out Design Route, a tour through Maastricht to visit five temporary interiors by design students from across the EU. They’ve been working on a slew of temporary projects: a library, fashion shop, park, hotel and security booth.

The tour will last from 13:00 to 17:00 and will include a welcome by Guus Beumer (initiator of Out of Storage, the temporary museum in The Timmerfabriek) and Ronald Rietveld on VACANT NL.

On Friday evening, we’ll be heading to the big event: our gala award ceremony, where the four winners of the 2011 Great Indoors Award will be announced!

Following a night of dinner and dancing, on Saturday we’ll be checking out a slew of design exhibitions. From 11:00 onwards, you’re invited to visit The Great Indoors Design Route with the five student projects; for a guided tour meet at Marres at 14:00.

We’re also heading to Bureau Europa (Avenue Ceramique 226), Marres (Capucijnenstraat 98) and The Timmerfabriek (Boschstraat 7-9) to see current exhibitions. For more information, check out the Great Indoors Award website.

Stay tuned for Monday morning, when we'll reveal on frameweb.com who has walked away with the coveted €5000 prizes!
