HAVOYSUND – Shaped like a meandering river, the latest project by RRA leads visitors from a street to a beach and ensures the user will have a walk to remember.

‘The initial approach was to single out and magnify the experience of walking from the roadside down to the seaside at this very special place,’ says Reiulf Ramstad, director of RRA.

Built as a public attraction, the project involves various spaces like sitting areas, a fire place, public toilets and bike sheds. It’s a perfectly equipped spot for day trips or short stop picnic when passing by car. Overlooking the Arctic Ocean in the north of Norway, the site is just off the Havoysund Tourist Route and offers stunning views.

The concrete path’s curving shape is meant to slow the speed of passers-by, to unconsciously make them focus more on the beauty of the setting and to stir their awareness.
