Last week we showed you a new Marni shop in Barcelona; this week we’re taking you the fashion label’s other new store in Beijing.
This is Marni’s biggest flagship store in the world, located in Beijing’s Sanlitun district. Totaling 550-sq-m, the two-storey boutique has a strong sense of geometry . A bold black-and-white motif of interlocking octagons covers the walls, while a cherry red staircase adds a welcome pop of colour.
‘The existing staircase was preserved, creating an interesting clash between its overtly industrial style and the polished sophistication of the remaining boutique,’ say designers at Sybarite.
Massive stainless steel rails keep clothing organized, while doubling as fuild sculptural forms. Incredibly, all furnishings are freestanding – even those that extend into the two-storey atrium.
