Moment Factory at LAX
No less than seven architecturally scaled, media features have taken up position in the new Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Spearheading the project was Moment Factory, a new media and entertainment studio, who oversaw the transformation of the new terminal into an engaging and immersive cinematic experience.
Taking into account the modern architectural features of LAX and the many stories that unravel within an airport terminal, Moment Factory imagined and produced media content that levels between visions for visitors to simply admire such as the ´The Portal´ with content evoking mosaic tiles, watery reflections and totem-like pillars and more informative screens such as the Destination Board, a generative video ´data cloud´ displaying flight information.
One of the most striking features is 'The Time Tower', a 72 foot, four sided, functional clock tower that wraps around the main elevators. The screens on the tower feature everything from jungle scenes to tributes to the silent film era whilst an interactive surface reacts to the movements of passengers with modified real time effects.
