Footwear brand Munich’s first store in Ireland is a 60-sq-m space that fuses art and design.

The concept has made use of everyday materials, the most notable of which are thousands of red fire-resistant Munich shoelaces. Over 67km of shoelaces were used in total, hanging from the ceiling to cover walls and windows.

Staff at studio Dear Design say they wanted the interior to ‘evoke a warm and comfortable feeling to make the client feel at home.’ Green fabric was used as an accent to cover surfaces, in an attempt to mimic Ireland’s sloping landscape.

The store is located in the Kildare Village shopping mall, about 55km from Dublin.
