To celebrate their newest store opening at Lisbon’s Plaza de Restauradores, Roca has commissioned a heart-stopping installation to cover the building’s façade.
The installation has been created by architects Saeta Estudi. The two studios have used a heart in previous designs for Roca (check out a beating heart installation in the Barcelona shop window) , so it’s no surprise they’ve kept with the theme.
At Roca Lisbon, its façade displays four interpretations of the organ placed on each floor. Various methacylate layers are superimposed to form the physical heart sections.
A coolite treatment gives the impression of depth and reflects sun by day, while at night the pieces flash with a rhythmic flashing beating. In front of each structure, a thin white neon trace shows a heart icon, highlighting the message.
