Stadio by PickTwo Studio
Delivering a new bar concept for Bucharest, PickTwo Studio has designed Stadio – a three-in-one contemporary hospitality space.
Located in a historic office building – topped with an impressive glass atrium reaching 34-m-high – the venue accommodates a Prosecco bar, a sports pub and a restaurant. The 300-sq-m space mixes a raw material palette of metal, concrete and wood, combining a concoction of retro touches. The three areas have a coherent form whilst each delivering up distinct offerings for customers.
Proseccheria is where the bubbles flow to start the evening in fine form with an aperitif. It is a drinks venue with a difference, with the DJ desk taking the place of the bar and with two tall, long industrial-style tables – which is where the all-important Prosecco is served.
The Atrium is the pub aspect that mixes the elements of a sports bar, put together in a cool way. The 600-kg metallic cylinder is a central focus, after all that's where the screens are positioned showing the games and sports. It is also a focus as the design details demonstrate local artisanal craftsmanship. Other aspects in the space subtly incorporate the world of sports: shoe laces, trophies, table football, player quotes, etc.
And after all the action, guests can satisfy their appetite in The Restaurant, which is a mix between American and Italian design from the 1960s. There are accents of a vintage kitchen used in an unexpected manner as artwork – the 'Exploded Oven Burner' arranged as decorations on the wall. You can also spot nods to other more famous artworks elsewhere, with a quirky display of Campbell's tomato cans in one corner. Graphical elements complete the look, with phrases (mainly in Italian) catching the diners' attention.

This venue is featured in our forthcoming book Night Fever 4 along with lots of other great hospitality venues. We still have some very last-minute space for awe-inspiring bar/cafe/hotel projects. Please see here to find out how to contribute your project for consideration by the books team, for this or other ongoing titles.
