In a grand gesture to make the Frame Awards more inclusive, engaging and transparent, we’re now calling out to interior-design professionals globally to apply for the role of Frame Awards jury member. We especially invite members from minority groups.
Revolving jury panels will select the Interiors of the Month Awards, a new initiative from our Frame Awards platform launching in September 2020. Now, we're seeking 15 stakeholders to participate in the inaugural monthly award. Juries will be renewed every month to include as many voices, opinions and backgrounds on our platform as possible.
The Frame Awards will be different than years before. In fact, it will not be like any other design awards programme. As of September 2020, the awards will become a more democratic, integral part of the global interior-design community. A jury panel of industry stakeholders will vote for Interiors of the Month as well as highly commended projects, regardless of category. To ensure maximum jury inclusivity, all professional members of the global interior-design industry – regardless of nationality, race, gender, age or job role – are invited to apply for a chair. Each month the jury will consist of 15 people which will be renewed monthly, to include as many as possible stakeholders: designers, architects and planners, but also contractors, manufacturers, retailers, hospitality entrepreneurs, creative directors, design managers and developers.
The evaluation process will take place online on a daily basis. As soon as a project appears on Frameweb.com's homepage you will have three days to vote for it. You're invited to score projects according to the following criteria: innovation, creativity, functionality and sustainability. Your votes for each submitted project will be visible to offer full transparency. On Tuesday 6 October 2020 a representation of the jury will discuss the highly commended and winning projects via Zoom in a webinar moderated by Frame founder Robert Thiemann. This jury session is open to the public.
The best monthly projects of each category will automatically be shortlisted for Frame Awards 2021, to be judged by a grand jury of industry leaders in June 2021.
Why become a jury member?
Being part of the Frame Awards jury comes with a string of benefits: get to know peers from around the globe, expanding your network and becoming a fully-fledged part of the Frame community. With that comes recognition for your work and the ability to express your opinions and share your thoughts from your own professional perspective. Not only that – you will be part of setting the global agenda for spatial design, becoming part of something bigger than just an industry award. To become a Frame Awards jury member is an honourable role that will add value and authority to your résumé. There’s only one caveat: it's not possible to submit projects to the Frame Awards during the month you are serving as a jury member.
