Designjunction Preview #2

Wireflow by Arik Levy for Vibia.

Designjunction was one of London Design Festival’s most talked-about destinations last year, transforming a former mail sorting office on New Oxford Street into a lively hub of brand showcases, talks, shops and eateries. Frame’s second preview looks at some of the lighting products that are worth a look when the old industrial venue opens its doors again, in just over a week.

1 Atelier Areti
Sisters Gwendolyn and Guillane Kerschbaumer make sculptural lighting with a sense of fun. The Alouette Collection is a series of birds with cone-shaped tails as lampshades.

2 Vibia
Arik Levy’s Wireflow for Vibia, launched at Euroluce in March, is a series of pendants that plays with two- and three-dimensional effects.

3 Örsjö
The simple design of Vinge by Note Design Studio is fast becoming a classic. It’s retro-looking blown glass shade gets an update by a unusual wing-shaped dimmer switch that invites play.

4 Vitamin
This London studio has eye for arranging abstract shapes that is becoming ever more refined. The Tied Up and Hooked Pendant lamps and the Element Vessel series are worth looking out for.

5 Hannabi
Ombrella Lamp by Hungarian brand Hannabi is a wireframe pendant lamp with a shape like the name suggests.
