International photography magazine Foam has entered into a partnership with Frame Publishers. The first result of the collaboration will be the annual Talent Issue, set for publication in late August.
Marloes Krijnen, editor-in-chief of Foam Magazine and director of Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, is enthusiastic about the new partnership: 'Frame Publishers are renowned for their high-quality publications in the fields of design, architecture and art, and Foam Magazine enjoys equal acclaim when it comes to photography. We share the same core values with regard to content, design and quality. This partnership with Frame Publishers will allow us to expand the international circulation of Foam Magazine and as such, introduce an even larger audience to photography.'
'Foam Magazine is an excellent publication that explores the latest developments in contemporary photography in every single edition. The committed team leads the way both in terms of content and design, utilizing their obvious passion to carve out a prominent global position for the magazine in the field of photography,' says Robert Thiemann, director of Frame Publishers. 'We’re proud to have the opportunity to work on this title together with Vandejong and an internationally respected institute such as Foam. Foam Magazine also strengthens our portfolio, which up until now, was limited to the fields of design, architecture and art. This partnership allows Frame Publishers to enhance its position as one of the leading international publishers focusing on creative professionals.'
Foam Magazine's Talent Issue will be the first magazine published by Frame Publishers. This year, the publication introduces the work of 21 young, talented photographers aged between 18 and 35. These up-and-coming photographers submitted their work for the Foam Talent Call, the ninth edition of which was organised by the magazine last spring. A total of 1,208 photographers from 67 different countries participated in the Foam Talent Call. The publication will be available from late August and will be officially presented at the Unseen Photo Fair 2015 in Amsterdam (18–20 September).
Travelling Talent Exhibition
The Talent Issue forms the foundations of an international travelling exhibition. In September, the work of the young talents will be presented at the Unseen Photo Fair. The exhibition will then go on display at L'Atelier Néerlandais in Paris (10 November–20 December) before heading to De Markten in Brussels (5–25 February 2016). Last July, there was a sneak preview of Foam Talent 2015, when a selection of featured works went on display in a special outdoor billboard exhibition on Amsterdam's Mercatorplein.
