Glass Cube by Ron Gilad

Arik Levy’s Hug Couch is submerged in the ceiling of the Molteni Headquarters.

Ron Gilad has reinterpreted Molteni&C’s new showroom with a witty twist. For the 400 m2 exhibition space at the Giussano production unit, Gilad approached themes of Molteni&C’s identity – materials, technology, industry and craftsmanship – with a more playful take.

As far as displays go, Gilad’s methods are far from conventional. Visitors get an alternative view of Arik Levy’s Hug Couch which is half submerged in the ceiling, complete with a pair of mannequin legs. Molteni&C’s affinity with materials is emphasized by a dissected chest of drawers, sliced in half to reveal the nuts and bolts of their making.

For the Wunderkammer, Fabrizio Campanelli composed a piece – performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra – as a site specific soundtrack for the room where a variety of scenes are projected onto the surrounding walls.
