Tapping into their vivid imaginations, Lisbon-based architects Pedro Cabrito + Isabel Diniz mount Ilustrarte 14 – international biennial of children’s book illustrations – at the Museum of Electricity. A multi-coloured landscape of sensorial foam cubes cover the expansive space.
Inspired by the timeless quality of building blocks, the exhibition design exudes a playful spirit but also provides viewers – young and old – with a better understanding of this intuitive discipline. 150 recent illustrations are displayed in embedded light boxes. Following a purely recreational logic, the graphic scheme stimulates participation – a volumetric game.
Ilustrarte 14 runs at Lisbon’s Museum of Electricity till 13 April.
