Instilled with watch brand Audemars Piguet's values, a spiraling landmark dedicated to art and science will emerge from a gently rolling hill in Le Brassus, Switzerland. Situated amidst factories and workshops, the pavilion completes the existing site’s function. Bjarke Ingels Group encapsulated and expressed Audemars Piguet’s motto ‘To break the rules you must first master them’ within the structure’s design.
The striking yet subtle exterior forms an intuitive sequence of spaces to present a storyline for visitors. Views of the encompassing landscape are experienced while learning the art and science of watchmaking. Lifting like a curtain, the earth reveals submerged guesthouses faced with all glass windows to receive natural light.
