MAD's Cloud Corridor proposal densifies LA's Museum Row

Ma Yansong proposes residences which implant a philosophy of Shansui City, introducing a spiritual essence between nature and the people in the City of Angels.

To oppose the endlessly sprawling city limits of Los Angeles, a cluster of towers form a high density urban village in the centralized museum district. Nine vertical structures are linked with public spaces and gardens to form an interconnected community inspired by the residential tower typology explored by modernist architects. Infusing the modernist model with a millenial improvement, MAD proposes patios and courtyards planted with lush vegetation at each level to offer residents a retreat into nature.

See the Cloud Corridor proposal at A+D Museum's exhibition Shelter: Rethinking How We Live in Los Angeles until 6 November 2015.
