FRANKFURT – With oversized panels in lively colours, Masquespacio illuminated Onok Lighting's presence at the 2016 Lighting & Building Trade Fair in Germany.
After dedicating a year to refreshing its brand identity, Onok Lighting views its presence at the fair as an opportunity to convey the company’s transformed message. Tasked with the challenge, co-founders Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse of Masquespacio, a Spain-based creative consultancy that combines the disciplines of interior design and marketing. Before the biennial trade fair, Masquespacio got the call to develop a stand that would bring Onok Lighting's fresh philosophy into the spotlight.
A first glimpse of the structure’s overall form seems to reveal a glowing maze fit for a game of laser tag. Creative director Ana Milena Hernández Palacios explains the stand aims to ‘entertain the visitor from the beginning to the end through colours, messages and forms, while he gets to know the technical lighting firm’s new products’. Light is interpreted as an element of colour, form, and everyday objects to captivate the perception of the visitors. To target the cognitive function which initiates action, the walls separating spaces bear passages like ‘Let's start playing!’, ‘Colours are brighter when the mind is open’ and ‘When you feel colours you will understand the why of their forms’. Decorated with blackened pineapples or golden axes, sections trigger an unusual reaction while demonstrating the influential power of light and colour. A fair trade, a stand that entertains while exhibiting technical lighting knowledge.
