On Saturday, 25 October at 20:00, a line-up of speakers rooted in the realm of Dutch Design will participate in a special Dutch Design Week edition of Ninety Minutes of Frame – Frame Magazine’s engaging lecture series. Ninety Minutes of Frame: Dutch Design What? will assess the direction of Dutch Design by charting its path through the past, present and future.
Robert Thiemann – co-founder and editor-in-chief of Frame Magazine – will lead the night with his personal perspective of the topic followed by four finalists of the Dutch Design Awards. Mark Woerde of LEMZ – this year’s overall winner at the Dutch Design Awards – will give a window into concerns being addressed by design today by introducing Sweetie, a virtual campaign waging war against Webcam Child Sex Tourism. Electrician turned animator Niels Hoebers, Het Instituut’s artistic leader and director Johan Wagenaar, and fashion designer Liselore Frowijn will further address the current context from the lens of their diverse fields.
The evening will culminate with a ceremony to announce the winner of the Frame Public Award, the award for this year’s Dutch Design Awards as voted for by the public. After the announcement, all attendees, finalists, speakers and winners are invited to celebrate with free bites, drinks and music.
