Resistance exhibition unravels stone's value at the Venice Biennale 2016

VENICE – World-renowned architects and practices – Alvaro Siza, Amanda Levete, Bijoy Jain, Elemental and Mia Hagg – have been invited to concretise a concept of resistance through stone manufacturing for Lisbon-based production and project development unit experimentadesign

As the primary phase of the First Stone research programme, the Resistance exhibition on show at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition explores Portuguese marble and limestone in terms of origin and quality. The material's high level of opposition to manufacturing becomes a point of inspiration to inspire and expand architectural territories of creativity.

The Resistance exhibition shows innovative applications of the material for public and private use at Villa Hériot on Giudecca Island from 26 May until 4 October. The exhibition is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10.00-19.00.
