Toshi by Luca Nichetto for Casamania

Pastel colours identify the different cabinet models.

Inspired by the mosaic tiling patterns that decorate some of Tokyo’s buildings, Luca Nichetto came up with a family of storage units for Casamania. Named Toshi (which means ‘city’ in Japanese), not only the patterns but also the furniture pieces themselves recall the skyline of the metropolis when placed next to each other. In order to enhance the carved, geometric decoration, the shape of the cabinets has been kept very clean and simple, a feature that also links to Japanese houses.

The collection consists of five differently-sized cabinets that all have their own pattern. Additionally, three smaller containers, either with doors or drawers, can be placed inside or on top of them. Customisation is offered by two different leg designs: a closed block or four square metallic legs. Made from milled and lacquered MDF, the Toshi family is available in white or a range of pastel colours.
