Ukrainian architect duo Makhno and Butenko have covered the interior of the bar with sticks, stuck together among themselves. Resembling a birds’ nest, the design is intended to create a cozy feel for diners, who might feel as though in a coniferous forest. The two-storey restaurant has bar and dining space on the ground floor, while hoisted onto the second level are a number of unique booth seating areas. The booths are nestled inside six curving balconies, which were inspired by the shape of a tornado and seem suspended in air. In contrast with the balconies’ smooth interior surfaces, their exterior walls are lined with textured wooden slats that hoist the forms into the air. Lighting was inspired by rain, which is evident in the drop-shaped lamps. To see another project by Makhno and Butenko, click here.
