Join Our Monthly Jury Panels
11-12 May 2022
IE Tower: P.º de la Castellana, 259E (Torre Caleido) 28046 Madrid
In a grand gesture to make the Frame Awards more inclusive, engaging and transparent, we’re calling out to design professionals globally to apply for the role of Frame Awards jury member. We especially invite members from minority groups.
Revolving jury panels will select the Winner of the Month, an initiative from our Frame Awards platform that launched in September 2020. We're continuously seeking 15 stakeholders to participate in the inaugural monthly award. Juries will be renewed every month to include as many voices, opinions and backgrounds on our platform as possible.
Maximum inclusivity
It's our aim to make the Frame Awards a more democratic, integral part of the global interior-design community. A jury panel of industry stakeholders votes for Winner of the Month as well as highly commended projects and products, regardless of category. To ensure maximum jury inclusivity, all professional members of the global design industry – regardless of nationality, race, gender, age or job role – are invited to apply for a chair. Each month the jury will consist of 15 people to include as many as possible stakeholders: designers, architects and planners, but also contractors, manufacturers, retailers, hospitality entrepreneurs, creative directors, design managers and developers.
Online evaluation
The evaluation process will take place online on a daily basis. As soon as a project or product appears on our homepage jury members can start voting for it. Projects and products are evaluated according to the following criteria: innovation, creativity, functionality and sustainability. Jury votes for each submitted project or product will be visible to offer full transparency.
Live jury sessions
At the beginning of each month a representation of the jury will discuss the highly commended and winning projects and products via Zoom in a webinar moderated by Frame founder Robert Thiemann. This jury session is open to the public.
The five highest-scoring projects and products in each sub-category will automatically be shortlisted for the Frame Award 2022 Interior of the Year. The winners will be announced on 28 October, 2022.
Why become a jury member?
Being part of the Frame Awards jury comes with a string of benefits: getting to know peers from around the globe, expanding your network and becoming a fully-fledged part of the Frame community. With that comes recognition for your work and the ability to express your opinions and share your thoughts from your own professional perspective. Not only that – you will be part of setting the global agenda for spatial design, becoming part of something bigger than just an industry award. To become a Frame Awards jury member is an honourable role that will add value and authority to your résumé. There’s only one caveat: it's not possible to submit projects to the Frame Awards during the month you are serving as a jury member.
How to apply?
Register your interest in becoming a jury member by submitting your résumé, (e.g. LinkedIn profile) and motivation to jury@frameweb.com. Chairs in the 15-strong jury of the month will be selected to create the most balanced jury possible, and will be renewed on a monthly basis.
